Alaska Class A/B/C UST Operator Course
This course will fulfill your Class A/B/C UST Operator Certification requirement and is approved by the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC).
The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) amended Title 18 of the Alaska Administrative Code, Chapter 78 (18 AAC 78) to update underground storage tank (UST) regulations by incorporating changes in federal UST regulations. The rule updates went into effect on September 27, 2018 and Petro Classroom has updated the Alaska A/B/C UST Operator course to reflect these regulations.
Class A and B Operators must complete the following 8 chapters in order to obtain their Alaska Class A/B/C UST Operator Certificate:
Chapter 1: Introduction
This chapter provides an overview of the Federal Regulations governing UST systems. A/B UST Operators will learn how preventing UST compliance and operational issues will decrease maintenance costs and increased profits for your facilities.
Chapter 2: Components of Tank Systems
This chapter is an in-depth look at the components of a tank system and common equipment issues that may cause leaks and require regular monitoring, maintenance and repair.
Chapter 3: Release Detection and Reporting
This chapter delves into the various methods of leak detection in compliance with state and federal law and the importance of proper installation and maintenance of monitoring equipment.
Chapter 4: State Requirements
This chapter will discuss the specific and unique requirements of the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC).
Chapter 5: Temporary & Permanent Closure
This chapter discusses the rule requirements and recordkeeping for placing a tank in temporary closure or permanent closure and changing the service of a tank.
Chapter 6: Operator Training
This chapter defines the duties and responsibilities of the Class A, B and C Operators as well as the certification training and documentation requirements for each class of operators.
Chapter 7: Class C Operator Training
This chapter provides an overview of the tank field and the components of a tank system along with an in-depth look at emergency response procedures and the responsibilities of a Class C Operator. This is the actual course your Class C Operators will need to take in order to become Class C Certified. It is a great review on what the Class C Operator needs to know and what you as a Class A or B Operator are responsible for making sure they know. This chapter includes a breakout section for operators at marina facilities.
Chapter 8: Inspections
This chapter explains the purpose of inspections, what state inspectors will be looking for and what you should be looking for to keep your facility in compliance with all the state and federal underground storage tank requirements.
